Valencia, the Post-it City Project
Valencia, the Post-it City Project, brings together the projects of social innovation of the New Promotional Platforms for the University Master's degree course in engineering of the design year 2015 / 2016 of the ETSID.
The project consisted of:
Identify a place in the city of Valencia, to create opportunities that promote actions, proposals or activities that generate a positive impact working towards a collaborative society.
"In recent years the world has been undergoing a process of transformation which is evidenced in more fluid, less strong, but most connected societies. This paradoxical horizon requires individuals and institutions to innovate and to use the creative capacity to define their future projects", notes Ezio Manzini in the publication, when all designed, and adds:" we are witnessing a wave of social innovation that has much to do with a new use of design to propose solutions and create meaning, that favour a sustainable society ".
The term social innovation refers to a process of creation, enforcement and dissemination of new social practices in very different areas of society. From this perspective, this project sought to identify a need and offer an innovative solution, new forms of organization or new interactions between citizens, to contribute to creating a city over all and more alive, ultimately more accessible. New forms of collaboration between the city, the Administration, citizens and local stakeholders can generate a quality of life more sustainable, resilient and open city-level systems. For this reason we try to apply social innovation from the point of view of cities, and in particular focused on the city of Valencia.
The project approach:
- Identify spaces in the city of Valencia with a specific use
- Field and taking pictures for his study visit
- Reflection on that space or place… or no place (Marc Augé (1935), coined the term "non-place" to indicate the places of transience that lack of significance to be understood as "places")
- Definition of the type of space, street, Avenue, plaza, Boulevard or solar…
Your actual location (geolocation) and size of space, street, Avenue, plaza, Boulevard or solar…
- Research of applications known from the proposal, if any
- Proposed use with social
- Justification of the social values of the proposal
