The massive open online course (MOOC) "Basic Spanish: One more step", taught by the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV),
has become one of the 50 best in the world.
This is what we recognize in the Central Class ranking, the world's leading reference in this type of analysis and in its prestigious
classification through objective evaluation criteria.
Only Spanish course present in the ranking
In addition, it is a unique Spanish course included in the ranking, for which more than 10,000 MOOCs have been analyzed around 800 universities
around the world. Therefore, it is the best valued course of all those offered in the set of Spanish universities.
Prepared by professors Ana Gimeno and Cristina Navarro, the course is designed for English speakers, offers a wide variety of content, from practical
exercises, videos, small and audio texts to improve pronunciation, to glossaries, practical activities and questionnaires.
Likewise, it also includes grammar cards and recommendations on external Internet resources to continue learning the language.
The UPV, international reference in the field.
The success of "Basic Spanish: a step beyond" is a further recognition of the extraordinary work that the UPV has been doing for a long time in the field
of MOOCs. In fact, the institution led by Francisco Mora was one of the principles of this year, the first person who speaks Spanish to surpass one million
enrollments in edX, the mass open online courses platform promoted by Harvard University and the Massachusets Institute of Technology (MIT).
